Penne Cole's thoughts on food, travel and more
We stroll, hand in gloved hand, the Doctor and I, under the glittering beauty that is the Eiffel Tower by night. It is our first day together in almost six months, and to have our reunion here in the City of Love is fitting indeed.
We take the stairs up La Tour, trying to count the steps, but giving up when we are well into the hundreds. Our toil and trouble is well-rewarded when we reach the top just as the sun begins to set. We have an unbeatable, panoramic view of Paris, and we savour the moment as we watch its lights start to blink on one by one. There, on top of the world and in his arms, it feels like I’ve come home.
This post was inspired by the Weekly Photo Challenge: Up. I’ve written two other entries for this challenge. The first is from the top of Victoria Peak in Hong Kong, and the second is of the glass cone over Coop’s Shot Tower in Melbourne Central. Hope you enjoy those two as well.
