Of bikes and weeping willows in Strasbourg, France, by Penne Cole
Strolling across the bridge that leads into Strasbourg’s old town, I pause and do a double take. Two bikes are chained to the railing; a weeping willow and its V-shaped leaves in green and gold provide a pleasing, patterned background. For a moment, I am transported back to Oxford as gentle raindrops splash around my feet.

This is beautiful. Weeping willows are one of my favorite trees! We planted two on our place, and feral cats killed one by scratching the bark off. I’m thankful the other one survived and is as beautiful as the one in your picture (although not as big yet).
Oh no. Sorry to hear about the first tree but glad to hear the other one is doing fine.
