Penne Cole's thoughts on food, travel and more
There’s nothing my dog likes more than being in the kitchen. Kinte is an outdoors dog – he’s not allowed into the house, and he knows it. The kitchen, however, is neutral territory. Not quite outdoors, but not indoors either, it’s a no-man’s land that he’s invaded and made his own.
Kinte likes to hang out in the kitchen, getting underfoot just when it’s most annoying. And when you scold him, he gives you a big, goofy, heart-melting grin and you end up giving him a pat on the head instead.
It’s a happy-go-lucky, carefree lifestyle that he leads. After all, who could ask for more than great food, plenty of space to roam, and good companionship?
This cat I saw in Istanbul, Turkey, has a great lifestyle as well. He spends his days hanging out with his owner, at his owner’s jewelry store. He’s supposed to be watching the wares, making sure that no one runs off with anything, but I caught him napping on the job. He could care less.
